In a tooth brush, the square tips 18 of bristle tufts in adjacent rows 16, 16<SP>1</SP> are transversely aligned and the bases of the tufts are transversely staggered. The tufts are inclined at an angle between 60 degrees and 80 degrees to the longitudinal axis of the brush head 12 and the tips 18 are intended to exert their most effective cleaning action on the surfaces bounding the interstices between the teeth.
