Abstract
943,381. \Moulding cork-resin mixtures. G. ROQUES, A. DAWINT, J. LALU, M. MODEL, and J. PENNACCHIONI. July 11, 1962 [Jan. 29, 1962], No. 26649/62. Heading B5A. Crash helmets, topees, &c. are moulded on a three-mould cycle comprising tamping a mixture of 5 to 6 parts cork grains with 1 part ureaformaldehyde resin between a first mould a and wooden core a 3 corresponding to the desired shape whilst, simultaneously, the succeeding step is being conducted upon a second mould a within a press by replacing the core a 3 by a counter-die C. Both the mould and counter-die are gas heated for 3 to 4 minutes at 130‹ C. to 150‹ C., whilst a third mould a is cooling as the moulded cork object removed therefrom is drying within a gas heated male and female mould assembly.
