Abstract

942,597. Vapour burners; outlets to chimneys. EMAILLEERFABRIEK DE IJSEL N.V. July 7, 1961 [July 12, 1960], No. 24753/61. Headings F4T and F4W. A vaporization liquid fuel burner comprises a tubular vaporizing chamber 5 provided beside a lower horizontal edge of a rectangular radiating element 13 and provided with an electric heating element 7 extending from the vapour outflow opening over three quarters of the length of the vaporizing chamber and is used for vaporizing the fuel during starting up. The heating element is switched on at the same time as the fuel supply and is switched off by a thermal switch when the normal working temperature is reached. The vaporizing chamber is provided with heat insulation 16 and rises at a slight incline in the direction of fuel flow and may be provided with a light gauge filling. Fuel passes to the vaporizing chamber 5 from a constant head device 2 and passes from the chamber via a conduit 8 to an injector 9 mounted in the air supply duct 10 to a mixing chamber 12 below the radiating element 13. The air duct 10 is connected to a double bottom 22 of the apparatus for the supply of air, and slightly declines towards the mixing chamber 12 to allow any condensed fuel to run into the latter. A heat insulated overflow device 6 is provided into which the conduit 8 extends to a height of about three quarters of an inch above the level of fuel in the constant head device 2. An adjustable reflector 14 is provided to direct radiant heat to the side of the vaporizing chamber remote from the radiant 13. A double walled screen 21 protects the liquid level regulator 2 against radiation from the burner. The heating apparatus embodying the burner has a chimney connection 19 an automatic draught regulator 20 and a draught interrupter 23. A duct 17 leads outside air into the stove to cool combustion gases before they enter the chimney. Specification 133,688 is referred to.
