940,567. Spray burners; air heating stoves. MASTER VIBRATOR CO. May 3, 1962 [May 5, 1961], No. 17031/62. Headings F4S and F4T. A portable space heater comprises a combustion chamber 19 connected to a burner housing 22 and removably mounted above a fuel tank 5, a compressor 32 for delivering atomizing air to an aspirating nozzle 26 disposed about a fuel delivery tube 23, 24 and a fan 31 for delivering further air to and about the combustion chamber 19. The burner housing 22 has air intake holes 36 and is mounted about an opening 20 in a plate 18 at the inner end of an inner cylinder 16 defining the combustion chamber 19. A conical deflector 21 is mounted at the discharge end of the combustion chamber 19 and defines an annular discharge passage. The inner cylinder 16 is mounted by means of spacers 13<SP>1</SP> concentrically within an outer cylinder 13 which also houses an electric motor 29 driving the compressor 32 and the fan 31. Air filters 33 and 34 are located upstream and downstream of the compressor. Ignition elements 38 in the burner housing 22 are connected to a transformer 8 mounted in a ventilated cavity 6 in an extension of the fuel tank shell. A filter tube 25 is fitted in the fuel line between the fuel delivery tube and the tank 5. The outer cylinder 13 has slotted plates which are slipped on to studs 12 on brackets 11 fixed on the top of the fuel tank 5. The latter is seated on cross-bars between tubular lays 2 forming A-shaped support frames. The drive from the motor to the compressor and fan may be transmitted by gears or belts.
