939,810. Ceilings; ceiling panels. R. C. M. BERGERIOUX. Oct. 7, 1960 [Oct. 9, 1959; Nov. 21, 1959], No. 34407/60. Classes 20 (4) and 87 (1). A ceiling comprises a panel supporting framework consisting of channel section elements 1 joined at each end to junction pieces 8 by means of a screw and nut which is concealed from below. The screw may be welded directly to the inside of the element or it is attached to a plate which may be spot-welded in position. As shown the screw has a head 25 fitting inside a correspondingly dished portion of a fixed plate 21 and is locked to a flange 27 of the junction piece 8 by a nut 38. When the screw is welded directly to the inside of the element a facing plate may be spot-welded to the outside so as to cover any deformation in the element caused by tightening the nut. The panels 2 have a dished centre portion and are retained at the junction pieces by the flanges of a strip 36.
