Abstract

A flooring tile is formed with a surface layer comprising 1 part magnesite cement, 1/2 part magnesium chloride, 2 parts fine silica, 3 parts granular or crushed synthetic resin, and a 1/4 part colouring pigment. A backing layer of cement is bonded to the surface layer using latex.
