Abstract
937,711. Direct connections between conductors. ERICSSON TELEPHONES Ltd. Jan. 31, 1962 [April 7, 1961], No. 12564/61. Class 38 (1). [Also in Group XXII] An electrical connection between a conductor 4 and a thin conductive layer 2 in an electroluminescent panel comprises a relatively massive bond having two components, of which one, 6, adheres to the conductor, and the other 5 adheres to the layer. In Fig. 1, the components 5, 6 adhere to each other. Component 5 may be silver or indium deposited in any convenient way on the conductive layer 2, and component 6 is soft solder. In Fig. 2 a third component 7 is added. This bond may be made by applying silver from a colloidal suspension to the layer, then depositing liquid indium and finally soft soldering a wire. The conductive layer may be copper, silver or gold on an epoxy resin, and it may be wiped with dilute hydrochloric acid or benzene before the bond is formed. The front electrode of an electroluminescent panel (Fig. 3, not shown) may comprise tin oxide on a glass stratum. Specifications 864,837, 864,838 and 937,712 are referred to.
