Abstract

A hollow cylinder of an insulating foam producing composition consisting of novolak, hexamethylene tetramine and a filler such as calcium carbonate woodmeal or gypsum is inserted into the cap of an incandescent lamp and converted to foam during the cementing operation for securing the cap to the bulb. In an example, a mixture of 5 parts novolak, 1 part hexamethylene tetramine, 8 parts dolomite and 0,5 parts woodmeal is used.ALSO:A hollow cylinder of an insulating foam producing composition consisting of Novolak, hexamethylene tetramine and a filler such as calcium carbonate, woodmeal or gypsum is inserted into the cap of an incandescent lamp and converted to foam during the cementing operation for securing the cap to the bulb.
