936,193. Making filter cigarettes. ZAVODY V.I. LENINA PLZEN NARODNI PODNIK. July 6, 1960 [July 10, 1959], No. 23568/60. Class 130. Assemblies 1, of double filters flanked by cigarettes, and having gummed cigarette paper connector strips 2 attached thereto, are fed from a suction drum A to grooves of a suction drum B where adjacent ends of the strips 2 of neighbouring assemblies are simultaneously wiped down by spring -loaded pivotal fingers 6a on levers 6 which are operated in pairs via links 14 and levers 17 by cam follower rollers 7 alternate ones of which are acted on by different fixed cams 8, 9 so as to act at different positions round the drum B. The connected assemblies are transferred to a suction drum C for final wrapping.
