Abstract

935,882. Carburetting apparatus. SOC. INDUSTRIELLE DE BREVETS ET D'ETUDES. June 29, 1961 [July 29, 1960], No. 23572/61. Classes 7(2) and 7(3). In carburetting apparatus for internalcombustion engines comprising at least two carburetters, each having an independent source of fuel, alternatively feeding a normal running circuit and a slow running circuit, in which latter a primary mixture of air and fuel is formed, the individual slow running circuits of each carburetter are fed by air mainly through a common passage 15 the section of which is adjustable by means of a single regulating member 17. The pressure losses may be identical in the various ducts connecting the single regulating member to the various carburetters. A calibrated orifice which in each carburetter delivers rich mixture is adjustable but means are provided for preventing its setting from being changed as long as the carburetter is mounted on the engine. The invention is applicable to cases where the carburetters are supplied not with liquid fuel but with a gaseous fuel. The needle valves 12 may be replaced by non- regulatable jets.
