Abstract
Plant growth regulating compositions contain substituted or unsubstituted polymethylene dinitramines or compounds which yield polymethylene dinitramines under hydrolyzing conditions. They may have the formula <FORM:0935671/I/1> where R is a substituent group or hydrogen. Examples of p polymethylene dinitramines are ethylene dinitramine, trimethylene dinitramine, tetramethylene dinitramine, N, N1-dinitrodiacetyl ethylene diamine, N, N1-dinitroethylene bis-acetamide, N, N1-dimethyl ethylene dinitramine and hydroxy methylethylene dinitramine. Examples of compounds which hydrolyze to the dinitramines are dinitroethylene urea, trimethylene dinitrourea and N - hydroxymethylethylene dinitramine. The compositions may be solids or liquids and may contain chalk, talc, kieselguhr, bentonite, china clay, ammonium sulphate, ammonium nitrate, urea, phosphorus or potassium compounds, herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, peat, spent hops, malt, water, acetone and dispersing agents. The compositions may contain 0,1% to 25% of the dinitramine compound.
