Abstract
51Nucleotides are obtained by subjecting yeast, or a yeast extract from which solid matter has not been recovered, to hydrolysis by living cells of or an enzyme system produced by a microorganism, said living cells or enzyme system being capable of hydrolysing nucleic acid into 51-nucleotides. Many microorganisms are specified. The hydrolysis may be effected at a pH of 5 to 9 and a temperature of 30 to 50 DEG C. A phosphomonoesterase inhibitor may be added. Products include 51-adenylic, 51-guanylic, 51-cytidilic, 51-uridylic and 51-inosinic acids. Specifications 912,790 and 933,826 are referred to.
