933,201. Bobbins. AMPLION Ltd. Jan. 16, 1961, No. 1746/61. Class 120 (3). [Also in Group XX] A spool for tape comprises a member 6 for anchoring an end of the tape to the spool which member 6 engages a guiding formation in a flange 1 or 2 so as to be slidable from a first position A at or near the spool periphery to a second position B nearer the centre axis of the spool, the arrangement being such that one end of the tape is insertable between resilient jaws 8 of the member 6 in the position A and the jaws 8 being urged towards each other when the member 6 is moved towards the position B. In the embodiment shown, the member 6 slides in slots 4 or 5 formed in flanges 1, 2 and has projections 7 to engage the slots. As the member 6 is slid to the position B the jaws are urged together by the taper of the slots. Preferably two members 6 are provided, as shown. In a modification, a single flange only on which the member 6 is slidable is provided. In a further modification, the flanges 1, 2 may be formed with projections or recesses to engage corresponding recesses or projections respectively in the member 6.
