Abstract

932,453. Trunking. WALSALL CONDUITS Ltd. March 8, 1960 [Dec. 8, 1958], No. 39503/58. Class 36. A cover, piece 29 for joining electric cable linear trunking members at an angle which may depart from the intended angle, comprises a pair of integral wall plates 32, 32 disposed transversely to each other and a top 33 and/or bone plate disposed transversely to said wall plates. Trunking, which may be of the domestic skirting type, comprises an integral base 13, base-flange 14, back 11, top 12 and 45 degrees chamfer 17, and a separate front plate 10 secured by a lip 15 under flange 16 and by screws 18 into holes 19 in base-flange 14. Compartments 20- 22 are defined by a one-piece platform member 23-26, its back 25 being welded to back 11 and its flanges 26 bearing against front plate 10. The external corner piece is secured by screws in the position indicated by lines 36 on Fig. 1. Platforms 40, 52, 53 extend platforms 23, 24 and base 13 respectively around the corner, and flanges 46, 54, 55 likewise extend flanges 26 and 14. Platforms 40, 52, 53 are attached to angle members 41 and 47 which are screwed to back 11, flanges 57, 58 being against the underside of platform 24 and top of base 13 respectively. Internal corner members (Fig. 2) comprise an integral member 59, having extensions to platforms 60 and 61, tops 74, bases 62 and back plates 63, the latter being screwed to backs 11, and an outside member 30 having chamber extension 69 and being screwed on to top extension 74 and base flange 14. Strips 67 of member 30 may be omitted (Fig. 3, not shown). In modifications the corner members are angled for non-orthogonal junctions and may incorporate an intermediate vertical chamfer.
