Abstract
931,282. Valve frequency changing circuits. R. A. WILSON. July 18, 1960 [April 17, 1959], No. 13250/59. Class 40 (6). Two oscillators, one crystal controlled and one continuously variable are coupled to one another and the beat frequency output is taken from a tunable circuit in the anode circuit of one oscillator. The triode 10 has a variable tuned circuit 14, 15, 16, 17 between grid and earth. A tetrode 11 has a tuned circuit 20, 22 connected to screen and via a crystal 21 to its grid. The grid is connected to the output of a low-pass filter 28 which is fed from cathode of triode 10, the anode current of valve 11 being modulated by the frequencies of both oscillators. The desired frequency is selected by the tuned circuit 29 which may be gauged to capacitor 15. The output can be taken direct from the anode of the tetrode via capacitor 37 or from terminals 34, 35 which are inductively coupled to the tunable circuit 29 gauged if desired, with the oscillator tuned circuit.
