930,494. Educational appliances. E. H. BLAND. Jan. 5, 1960 [Jan. 6, 1959], No. 559/59. Class 146 (2). A device for teaching arithmetic comprises a prism, two variable adjacent sides of which have representations of numbers to be added, subtracted, multiplied or divided, and a third obscured side which shows the answer when the prism is rotated. The device may be triangular or hexagonal with marked areas, and may be formed with a projecting end-piece 23 for inter-engaging with a recess 22 on a neighbouring prism. A series of prisms may be formed with a hole so they can be non-rotatably assembled on a spindle. The sides may be slightly curved.
