930,046. Door operating appliances; hinges. C. J. WATKINS. April 26, 1962 [March 28, 1961], No. 11366/61. Classes 65 (1) and 65 (2). A spring-actuated door closing device comprises a torsion bar which forms the hinge pin for at least two hinges arranged in spaced relation, means being provided for pre-stressing the bar and for securing it to one fixed and one moving element, respectively, of the hinges whereby the bar is increasingly stressed as the door is opened. If three hinges are used the bar can turn freely in the centre hinge.
