Abstract

928,298. Decking gear for pit cages. GUTEHOFFNUNGSHUTTE STERKRADE A.G. July 28, 1960 [July 29, 1959], No. 26347/60. Class 78 (4). A hinged ramp 4 (Fig. 1 providing access to a pit cage 1 or other hoisting conveyance serves to align the cage with the ramp. In the form shown in Fig. 1 members 7 of arcuate shape fixed on the ramp 4 turn the cage 1 from the position 1<SP>1</SP> to which it is normally biased by its guide ropes to the aligned position 1. The member 7 may engage an inclined or curved shoe on the cage. Alternatively the member 7 may have a wedge-shaped portion 7<SP>1</SP>, as shown in Fig. 7, which engages with corresponding surfaces 10 on the cage. In a further alternative, shown in plan in Fig. 10, the ramp 4 carries members 11 formed with inclined surfaces which engage corresponding surfaces on a member 12 secured to the cage 6 and so shaped that the members 11 prevent movement of the cage away from the landing. This device may be combined with devices 7, 13 similar to that shown in Fig. 1. The members 11 are preferably secured to the ramp by frangible pins to prevent damage if the cage is moved away from the landing with the ramp lowered.
