Abstract

928,141. Load carrying pallets. ALBERT E. REED & CO. Ltd. Feb. 9, 1962 [Feb. 13, 1961], No. 5323/61. Class 78 (4). A foot for a pallet consists of an open-ended box of corrugated cardboard or the like attachable to the load board of the pallet by means of attachment flaps 7. The box consists of a double thickness of the cardboard along each side face and also along one diagonal. Fig. 1 (not shown) illustrates the manner in which this may be achieved by folding a single strip of the cardboard. The flaps 7 may be integral with the material of the box but are preferred to be the free ends of a separate U-shaped piece of material which embraces thediagonal rib 4 of the box. This piece may either be of cardboard or of metal, its free ends being inserted through slots in a pallet 8, Fig. 4 (not shown), and then folded flat on, and secured to, its upper surface.
