928,093. Foundry plant; continuous casting machines. BOHLER & CO. A.G. GEB. Dec. 1, 1959 [Dec. 3, 1958], No. 40732/59. Addition to 748,729. Class 83 (1). In a continuous casting plant the moulds 2a, 2b are arranged in more than one row and the billet axes of each row of billets lie in a plane extending parallel with the billets, all appliances for carrying out the casting operation up to and including the dividing of the billets into lengths being arranged in several superposed stages and disposed on one side of or in one of the planes lying closer or closest to the ladle, whereas the ladle 3 is located on the other side of that plane. All the rows of billets are arranged close to one another and are surrounded by a partition wall or walls from the mould outlet to the point at which they are cut to length, the moulds and billets are located within said wall or walls and the other appliances for carrying out the casting operation up to and including the dividing up of the billets are partly located outside the wall or walls and extend therethrough to act upon the billets. The vapours collecting in the aftercooling section are sucked off.
