Abstract

<PICT:0926922/IV(a)/1> Apparatus is provided for lubricating a yarn as it unwinds from a spool or conical package and comprises a wick 6 provided with an aperture 12 through which the yarn passes to the needles of a knitting-machine, the gyratory movement of the yarn as it comes from the spool or package causing it to contact the wick and lubricate itself as it passes through the aperture. The wick is housed in a receptacle 1 containing the lubricant.
