Abstract

A Soderberg electrode paste comprises a carbonizable binder and crushed coke which is 5-60% graphitized. Only the coarser grained portion of the coke may be graphitized. The solid components of the paste in pulverized form may have an electrical resistance of less than 250 ohm mm2/m.
