Abstract

926,027. Roller-and-breast mills. KOPPERS CO. Inc. Dec. 20, 1960 [May 23, 1960], No. 43799/60. Class 59. [Also in Group XII] In a continuous sintering machine, the sintered cake is discharged from an endless track on to an inclined crash deck where it is broken down by rotatable breaker teeth. The crash deck 14 comprises spaced parallel bars 15, through which pass the prongs 29 of the breaker roll 28, with removable harder wear caps 26 of inverted U-shape bolted in position, the load from the caps bearing on the shoulders 40 of the bars, Fig. 8 (not shown), there being a tolerance gap (not shown) between the medial ridge of the wear cap and the top of the bar. The bars and caps can be removed through holes 34 in the end frames of the breaker deck. Specification 777,799 is referred to.
