924,997. Fishing floats. B. WARNER. Aug. 18, 1959 [Aug. 19, 1958; Sept. 22, 1958], Nos. 26697/58 and 30244/58. Class 48. A fishing float comprises a floatable bobbin 15 adjustable on an elongate member 10 to a position in which it will support the latter horizontally in contact with the water against the weight of the hook carrying length of line 13 and will allow the elongate member 10 to tilt into or towards a vertical position when a pull on the line 13 occurs as a result of a fish biting. The elongate member 10 may be of wood or may be the spine of a feather and may have a fin at its free end. The bobbin 15 may be drop shaped as shown or may be spherical, ovoidal, semi-spherical or semi-ovoidal and may be made of solid cork or may be a hollow plastic member. Also the bobbin 15 may be provided with a wire loop or passage through which the line 12 passes to the loop 11 on the float to which it is attached. An additional buoyant member smaller than the bobbin 15 may be adjustably fitted on the free end of the elongate member 10.
