Abstract

924,326. Securing sleeves on shafts. MOELLER & NEUMANN G.m.b.H. April 17, 1961, No. 13723/61. Class 80 (2). A key for securing a sleeve 1 to a shaft 2, particularly for rolling mills, consists of an outer longitudinally slit cylindrical sleeve 3 expanded by a tapered internal sleeve 4, also slit longitudinally, and formed with an eccentric bore. The sleeve 1 is locked axially by a pair of bolts. 11 whose heads engage the radially aligned slits 3a, 4a in the sleeves 3, 4. The key may be inserted by a plate 5 moved axially by a central screw portion 7 engaging an axial threaded bore 6 in the end of the shaft 2, and may be removed by a wedge 9 inserted through a recess la at the end of the sleeve 1. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the internal expansion member is formed from two interengaging slit sleeves, the slits being arranged diametrically opposite each other.
