Abstract
924,136. Resilient mountings. SILENTBLOC Ltd. May 12, 1959 [May 20, 1958], No. 16238/58. Class 108(3). In a resilient mounting, a rubber member 13 is longer in its free state than an inner member 12. The end portions of the rubber member 13 grip the inner member 12. A plate 10 fits into a circular groove in the rubber member 13 which is of larger diameter than the diameter of the hole in the plate 10, the width of the groove being less than the thickness of the plate 10. Washers 20 are attached to the inner member 12 by bending over portions 22. The proportions of the various parts of the resilient mounting may be varied to suit different requirements. The washers 20 instead of being attached to the inner member 12 may be held against the member 12 by a bolt and nut which pass through the interior of the member 12. In a further embodiment, the inner member and the rubber member may be in two halves, 30, 31, Fig. 5, respectively. The two halves of the mounting are assembled from opposite sides of the plate like member. Before assembly the abutting edges of the rubber members project beyond the ends of the halves 30 of the inner members.
