Abstract

<PICT:0923138/III/1> In a process for the continuous crystallization of heptahydrate of iron sulphate from sulphuric acid pickling solutions, the liquid to be treated is introduced into a container 2 having a circular cross-section and a conical lower portion, flows downwards in said container outside a cylindrical pipe 9 disposed concentrically inside the container and separating the two treatment spaces from each other, as far as the zone of the conical container portion, and from there rises again through the treatment space disposed inside the cylindrical pipe, air being blown into the inner treatment space by means of a ring of nozzles 14 at the lower extremity of said space so as to secure a rapid upward movement. The crystals, cooled also by coils 10, collect in container 2 and via automatic pneumatic conveyer system 12 are taken off at 15.
