923,130. Joint-making packing. A. J. W. THOMAS. Dec. 7, 1959 [April 24, 1959], No. 19029/62. Divided out of 923,129. Class 122(3). [Also in Group XXVIII] A pipe joint is sealed by a tubular ring 9 of rubber &c. filled with compressible fluid. The ring is compressed between the male end 12a of one pipe 12 and the female end 13a of the other pipe 13 and, to facilitate insertion, it may be held on a reduced portion 8 of the pipe 12 before the latter is inserted in the end 13a.
