Abstract

921,813. Stretching fabrics. SCREEN PROCESS SUPPLIES Ltd. July 14, 1959 [July 16, 1958], No. 22754/58. Addition to 813,007. Class 42 (2). [Also in Group XVI] Apparatus for stretching material to a frame comprises a rotatable member mounted parallel to each limb of the frame, means for attaching, to each member, as by clips or adhesive tape, an edge of the material, and means for rotating the members to stretch the material. The frame comprises channelled limbs 1, 2, 3, 4 and comer blocks 5, 6, 7, 8. In the limb 1 is a circularsection member 9 rotatably mounted in the blocks 5, 8, and extending through the block 8, its end being provided with a part 9b for turning, as by a crank handle. In the limb 1 is also an abutment block 13 adjustable towards and away from the member 9 by rotating a nut on a screw 17, and having a curved surface portion to engage the member 9. By moving the block 13 outwardly, bowing of the material and the member 9 owing to the tension of the material is obviated. The limbs 2, 3, 4 are provided with similar rotatable members and abutment blocks, and each limb may have a plurality of blocks.
