919,159. Conveying articles. HAMILTON, W. R. Dec. 14, 1959 [March 6, 1959], No. 7840/59. Class 78 (1). A vibratory feeder includes a cylindrical container 15, with a spiral shoot 19, secured to a base 6 to which a soft iron core 14a is attached, and the base is fixed to the upper ends of inclined leaf springs 4 upwardly extending from a base plate 3. An adjustable platform 9, to which an electric coil 7 is attached, is secured to the base plate, whereby a supply of A.C. to the coil effects vibration of the container. Each vibration has a rotational and linear displacement, and its amplitude is varied by turning the coil relative to the core by means of a pin 12 which is held in the desired position by a locking plate 11 and nut 14. Several containers may be superposed.
