916,816. Cigarette holders. WORNELL, C. N. M. May 29, 1959 [March 11, 1958], No. 7883/58. Class 130. A telescopic holder with a stub-ejecting plunger 18 has a socket 12 deep enough to receive a filter 16 as well as a cigarette 15, the plunger 18 being retained in an intermediate position for use without the filter 16 by depressing the plunger sufficiently to bring a key 27 thereon clear of its keyway 26 and rotating the plunger to locate the key 27 in a recess 28. The plunger head 23 may have a coned or flat seating on a plunger guide 14 and there may be a plunger return spring 22. The holder body 11, which may be of metal, may be of uniform internal diameter and have a short split liner press-fitted therein to form the plunger guide 14, or this may be formed by flutings in the body 11, faced at one end by a split washer forming the plunger head seat.
