Abstract

915,605. Electromagnetic relays. BOSCH G.m.b.H., ROBERT. Feb. 17, 1961 [Feb. 19, 1960], No. 5933/61. Class 38 (5). [Also in Group XXXV] An, electromagnetic relay comprises an insulating disc 34 carrying a contact bridge 16 which shorts contacts 40, 41 in its inoperative and contacts 42, 43 in its operative state. Energizing an electromagnetic coil 30 causes a flexible switching-rod to move against a restoring force to engage a recess 37 and thus turn the disc 34 about a pivot 33 and against the action of a spring 39 into the operative position. Interruption of the current through the coil 30 causes the rod 31 to withdraw and the disc 34 to return to its original position under the action of spring 39. If coil 30 is energized together with a second electromagnetic coil 35, then on the movement of the disc 34, an armature 36 is attracted by the coil 35 so that the operative position of the disc 34 is maintained against the action of the spring 39, when the coil 30 is de-energized. Further energization of the coil 30 causes the rod 31 to engage a second recess 38 on the disc 34, thus returning it to the original position against the action of the stillenergized coil 35.
