915,439. Agitating material in hoppers. SIMON HANDLING ENGINEERS Ltd. Aug. 4, 1961 [Oct. 26, 1960], No. 36799/60. Class 78 (1). Material b is discharged from hopper a through the central aperture shown by the aid of agitating diaphragms c, d. The diaphragms c, d are operated by fluid cylinders e, f controlled by valve g. Air enters by pipe h and is exhausted by pipe i and is distributed by valve g to the two diaphragms so that one diaphragm moves inwards as the other moves outwards to cause a shearing action upon the material within the hopper and so assist its discharge.
