914,351. Fuel elements. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. Jan. 15, 1959 [Jan. 15, 1958], No. 1507/59. Drawings to Specification. Class 39 (4). In a nuclear reactor fuel element, cylindrical fuel rods are enclosed in sheaths which are connected together by webs integral with the sheaths. The sheathing and webs are formed together by a precision casting or drawing process. The arrangements may be asymmetrical wherein the empty spaces may be used for irradiation purposes or to receive measuring instruments. The webs are planar and a central, dummy fuel element, of sheath material, may be arranged inside and connected to a symmetrical array of elements.
