914,094. Tube couplings. USINES A TUBES DE LA MEUSE S.A. DES. April 13, 1959 [April 14, 1958], No. 12448/59. Class 99(1). A synthetic resin tube 2 is secured in a coupling between the conical face 4 of a nipple, the cone angle of which is below 7 -degrees, and a longitudinally-slotted sleeve 3 which is pressed on to the tube 2 by an axially-movable ring 1 provided with a conical bore 10. The ring is internally threaded and is screwed on to the nipple. Grooves 23 may be provided in the sleeve 3 to increase its flexibility. The coupling elements may be of nylon, polyvinyl, chloride, polystyrene or polyethylene. Alternatively, the sleeve 3 is of synthetic plastic and the ring 1 and the nipple are of stainless steel or bronze. Specifications 165,293, 394,413 and 469,525 are referred to.
