A tube-bending machine comprises a rotary centre-forming die. and a back former bar between which the work is laid for bending around the die, a pressure-applying head, a driver and a means of supporting the driver and die whilst the former bar is disposed relatively of the support means during a bending operation. An eccentric reversible forming die 1 having an arcuately channelled periphery is adjustably pivoted about a pin 2 in holes 3, which are slightly off-set relative to the axis of a jack 7, in a pair of parallel bars 4, 5, welded at one end to a rectangular head 6 secured to an hydraulic jack 7 actuated by a lever 8. A forked head 9 slidably guided between the bars 4, 5 houses a roller 10 which bears against the flat face of a back-forming bar 11, the other face of which is arcuately channelled. A tube 12 is anchored by a stirrup 14 retained by a pin 15 at the starting end of the die 1, pressure due to the actuation of the jack 7 loads the roller 10 and former bar 11 and causes the die 1 to rotate and bend the tube to the required arc. The cylinder 7 may be detachable and the whole assembly stowed in a box 16 on which the machine may be mounted by means of a transverse bar 17 welded to the arm 5 and located on a spacer 19 between strengthening bars 18 and additionally supported by bars 20 and a flange 21. The jack may be connected direct to a source of fluid pressure. A feed-screw arrangement may be used in place of the jack.
