Abstract

912,415. Storage bins; structural tubes, bars and posts. CONVEYORS (READY BUILT) Ltd. Sept. 8, 1961 [June 23, 1960], No. 22021/60. Classes 20 (1) and 20 (2). A storage bin, for granular or powdery material, which can be quickly assembled and enlarged without affecting the contents of the bin has post assemblies connected by corrugated panels. A corner post comprises an inner plate 18 to which the flanges of panels 14 are attached and an externally attached plate 19 completes the post. To convert the corner post into an intermediate side post for the addition of a section of bin the plate 19 can be removed without affecting the contents of the bin and can be replaced by a plate 26 to which another panel 14 is attached. The post is then completed by a straight plate 28 or if a centre post is to be formed by a plate 29 to the section 32 of which a further panel 14 can be attached. Hand holes are provided in the intermediate vertical parts of plates such as 18 to allow access from the interior of the bin for the tightening of nuts such as 22 used to secure the panels 14. The bin may be provided with discharge hoppers and the panels 14 are secured together by bolts entering slots and holes in the co-operating edges thereof.
