Abstract
912,358. Shovelling machines. CHASESIDE ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Feb. 10, 1959 [Nov. 19, 1957], No. 36059/57. Class 68 (1). [Also in Group XXX] Removable toe-plates 11, Fig. 5, are located in the groove between space upper and lower plates 1, 4, Fig. 11, forming the base of a scoop or shovel and are secured by members such as bolts. Teeth 28, Fig. 8, may be mounted on the removable toe-plates. As shown, the shank 13, Fig. 5, of the toe-plate 11 fits between the plates 1, 4, of the scoop. Fig. 11, and is secured by bolts through holes 14, 14a, Fig. 2. The shank 20 of corner edge member 18, Fig. 6, fits between the plates 1, 4 of the scoop while the upright shank 22 locates on the outside of side plate 5, Fig. 11, and is secured by bolts passing through holes 27, 27a. In a modification, the spacers 78, Fig. 19, are shaped to engage corresponding surfaces on the toe-plates. The teeth 28 protect the joints between the toe-plates.
