[Also in Group XXVII] A cam assembly comprises a shaft 28, Fig. 2, including shaft sections 48, 50, and a cam section 56, connected in end-to-end relation, a frame 10, Fig. 1, supporting a member 74 stationary relative to the shaft, a support 78, connected to the member 74, having a rotational bearing for the cam section and removable with the cam section as a unit by disconnecting the cam section and the support. One or more cam sections may be included and are secured to the shaft sections by bolts 59. The contacting surfaces of cover-plate 78, housing 74 and flange 94 are machined to insure alignment of the cam and shaft sections.
