A wash-hand basin 2 or like sanitary fitting is secured to and supported by, e.g., a wall, an outlet 4 being located in the base of the bowl, which is shielded by a member 5 mounted below the bowl and extending to a position short of a floor. The shield member 5 is secured against the wall by screws in eyes 6 formed in projections 7. There is a surround 9 at the top of the basin 2, the rear part of which extends upward to form two oppositelydisposed apertured surfaces 10, 11 and an apertured surface 12. On the latter a masking member 17 is located which contacts the side edges thereof, with its centre in spaced relation to the aperture 16 or apertures in the surface 12. In apertures 14, 15 in the surfaces 10, 11 are mounted water-supply valves, which are otherwise mountable, at least one wateroutlet nozzle being located in the aperture 16. The member 17 is secured to the surface 12 by bolts 18, in bolts 19, 20 in the member 17 and surface 12, and nuts 21. The basin 2 has an overflow outlet 7 leading to a passage forming a ridge accommodated in a depression 8 in the member 5 and when it is wall-mounted the masking member 17 might be dispensed with. According the the Provisional Specification, the members 5 and 17 may have "keyhole" slots for hooking on to screws fixed to a wall on which the basin is mounted.
