Abstract

909,020. Semi-conductor switching circuits. WESTINGHOUSE BRAKE & SIGNAL CO. Ltd. Aug. 16, 1961 [Oct. 21, 1960], No. 36220/60. Class 40 (6). In a pulse generator, capacitors C1, C2 are charged via a controlled rectifier TS1 and a further rectifier MR. C2 is discharged into a load by firing the controlled rectifier TS2. Resistor R provides a path for the leakage current of TS1, the voltage developed across R due to leakage current being insufficient to drive appreciable current through MR. The capacitors are preferably charged via an inductor L. The invention may be applied to direct current regulators and series inverters.
