Abstract
The invention comprises alkylammonium or dialkylammonium salts of 2:6-di-tert-alkyl-4-nitrophenols, the tert-alkyl groups containing up to 6, and the other alkyl groups up to 20 carbon atoms. The salts are prepared directly from the phenol and amine by reaction in an inert solvent. The n-butyl, cyclohexyl, n-dodecyl and di-n-propyl-ammonium salts of 2:6-di-tert-butyl-4-nitrophenol are specified. Specifications 825,420 and 872,184 are referred to.ALSO:Pesticidal compositions comprise alkylammonium or dialkylammonium salts of 2 : 6-ditert-alkyl-4-nitrophenols and a solid or liquid carrier or diluent. The alkyl groups in the ammonium cation contain up to 20, and the tert-alkyl groups contain up to 6 carbon atoms. The n-butylammonium salt of 2 : 6-di-tert-butyl-4-nitrophenol is mixed with the same amount of acetone and with 50 wt. per cent of nonylphenol polyglycol ether and the premixture diluted with water to concentrations of 0.02 and 0.004%. Specifications 825,420 and 872,184 are referred to.
