906,259. Shovelling-machines. PRIESTMAN BROS. Ltd. July 10, 1961 [July 26, 1960], No. 25980/60. Class 68 (1). In a crowd shovel excavator a cable 33 controlling the latch 30 of the discharge door 23 of the bucket passes about a roller 35 that can be so caused to move as to make the cable 33 release the latch 30. The roller is mounted on one arm of a bell-crank lever pivoted on the boom 11 of the excavator. An hydraulic piston-cylinder unit 45 mounted in the boom contacts the other arm for actuating the lever. The cable 33 is drawn in and paid out at the same rate as the retracting rope 16 of the excavator.
