A process for the production of " reverse " tracings comprises treating a conventional tracing paper on one surface with a waterproof varnish, the paper remaining flexible, transparent, and adapted to receive fatty acid inks, and then subjecting the varnished tracing paper to a ferrogelatinographic printing process using fatty acid inks, the varnished side being applied to the gelatine. The varnish, which resists any tendency of the tracing to curl after it has been applied to the inked gelatine support, may be nitrocellulosic and contain butyl acetate and ethyl acetate, or it may be a polyvinyl alcohol or polyester.
