904,795. Hydraulic props. DOWTY MINING EQUIPMENT Ltd. Aug. 24, 1960 [Sept. 8, 1959], No. 30643/59. Class 20 (2). In an hydraulic pit prop comprising a ram tube 16, 19 slidably mounted in the upper part of a cylinder 11 and provided with a ram tube seal 23, an injection valve 29 and a combined relief/release valve 35, the slidable mounting of the ram tube 16 is provided wholly above the seal by axially spaced lower and upper slide bearings 14, 18, respectively. The valve 35 is disposed above the seal 23 and communicates with the underside thereof by an inclined passage 34 to prevent accumulation of stray air therein.
