Apparatus for'walking on water comprises two shoe floats, each of which is formed from a solid block 1 of low density foamed plastic material, and a stick 18 provided at the lower end with a disc 20 of foamed plastic material. The block 1 may have a sheath of plastic material over the whole of its surface formed by the sheets 2, 3, 4 and 5 and stem and stern pieces 13 and 12. A recess 6 is provided in the block 1 in which a foot can be engaged. Various methods are described of forming the sheath over the block 1.
