Abstract

900,810. Lifting pallets. MULLINIX, C. D., GEHR, G. VON., WORRELL, R. M., HUEBNER, H. P., and HUEBNER, H. A. Dec. 28, 1960, No. 44482/60. Class 78 (4). A pallet 10 comprises two platforms 11, 12, separated by posts 13 attached to the platforms by means of cups 34, 35 which pass through holes in the platforms and posts and engage the other surfaces of the platforms by flanges 37. The platforms are preferably made of layers 19, 20 of corrugated paper or cardboard, the posts of cardboard tubes and the cups of metal. Several alternative forms of cup (Figs. 4 to 8, not shown), are described and in these the outer wall 36 may carry a projection to increase the frictional grip between the cup and post, the base portion 38 may be omitted and/or the cup strengthened by cross braces. Also, the posts and cups may have a rectangular or other non-circular crosssection.
