Abstract

<PICT:0900793/III/1> A wet back paint spraying booth is provided with a filter into which the water forming the curtain falls, the filter having a conveyer shaped to provide a trough in which the filtering medium is supported, which conveyer may be traversed periodically or continuously so that, as the filtering medium becomes clogged with paint, a fresh portion is drawn into the trough. As shown, an endless chain conveyer 11 is shaped to provide a trough-like upper surface which supports a filter medium such as filter-paper 12, over a water tank 14. Above the tank 14 is a paint spraying booth, having a header tank 15 from which water overflows down a panel 18, forming the back of the booth, washes over deflector plates 21 and 22, passes through the filter 12 into the tank 14, and is returned by a pump 16 to the header tank 15, a portion being drawn off by a pipe 36 to supply spraying nozzles 35. Air is drawn through the falling water curtain below the panel 18 by a fan 25, and is washed by the spray from the nozzles 35. The conveyer 11 may be advanced to move on the filtering medium either manually or by a motor, which may be controlled automatically by a float in the trough formed by the conveyer.ALSO:A wet-back paint spraying booth is provided with a filter into which the water forming the curtain falls, the filter having a conveyer shaped to provide a trough in which the filtering medium is supported, which conveyer may be traversed peridically or continuously so that, as the filtering medium becomes clogged with paint, a fresh portion is drawn into the trough. The conveyer may be advanced either manually or by a motor, which may be controlled automatically by a float in the trough formed by the conveyer. The filter medium is preferably paper.
