Abstract

900,661. Expansion joints. TEDDINGTON AIRCRAFT CONTROLS Ltd. May 2, 1961 [May 26, 1960], No. 18660/60. Class 99(1). In a fluid-tight, hinged, expansion coupling an inner flexible bellows 1, e.g. of metal, is connected at the ends thereof to flanges on a pair of outer hinge members. 2, 3, formed or provided with co-operating hinge plates having mating convex and concave surfaces of different radii whereby the former can roll in the latter. As shown, each member 2, 3 has a pair of arms 4, 5, the outer arms 5 being provided with wedge-shaped projections 6 having a convex tip and the arms 4 being formed with mating wedge-shaped recesses 7 of slightly greater angle and with a concave bottom of slightly greater radius than that of the convex tip.
