Abstract

A Mannich reaction between formaldehyde ammonium chloride or an alkanolamine and quelracho, wattle or a polyhydroxy-flavan type tannin results in a flocculating agent.ALSO:The Mannich condensation is used with formaldehyde, ammonium chloride or an alkanolamine and quebracho, wattle or a polyhydroxy-flavan type tannin.ALSO:A flocculation agent comprises the reaction product of formaldehyde, ammonium chloride or an alkanolanmene and quebracks, wattle or polyhydroxy-flavan type tannin.
